Episode 85: Tribute to the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes!

13-07-2015

At a height of 6' 2", weight of 275 pounds, and billed from Austin, Texas, the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes was a legend that transcended multiple demographics.  A country boy who talked like he was black, he appealed to many, especially the blue collar crowd in the United States.

Highlights

  • 3 time NWA World Heavyweight Champion
  • Multi-time NWA World Tag Team Champion (and Six Man Tag Champion)
  • Multi-time NWA World TV Champion
  • Multi-time NWA United States Champion
  • 2007 WWE Hall of Fame inductee.

Though his career was legendary, his main controversy was the fact that he wrestled while he booked (http://www.infinitecore.ca/superstar/index.php?threadid=17384).  Barry Windham disagreed with being in the main event while booking at the same time (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ddviXaswVw).

Still, he was known for having a big heart.  An example was shared on Facebook by Homer Shadowheart on June 11, 2015 (https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10152724952496706&id=511676705).
