Escapist has a video explaining a certain phenomenon that's not in so much of a favorable light. TotalBuscuit also comes up in the conversation.  To sum up, the problems with mobile gaming include:

1. Micro-transactions: Players are nickle and dimed, and the market is lucrative at the moment.
2. Other titles, story ideas, etc get abandoned: Konami sees mobile as the future of gaming, so say goodbye to Metal Gear Solid at this point.
3. It could lead to a recession in video games (though not necessarily a bad thing).
